You are fortunate to see this phenomena without moving. Its the same as when you drive into and out of a storm or when a storm front moves in. There is always somewhere that is just next to the rainstorm that is not getting wet.

the answer to this depends on more factors......have you seen.....this with your own eyes...or just seen the wet ground in front and not in the back.......it also depends on the vegetation around.....and of the time that sun shines over these spots.....cause if your house is very high..... and sun rises from front...and goes down behind....it will shine long over the back .....and it also depends on the time that it rains....and if you have anything that may cover the area.....

it sometimes happens here in colorado. i think it depens on where the cloud is and how it is hitting you house and stuff. it is weird.
