It's really great. Safe and annonymous but you still need to meet in the flesh to discover if there's a real chemistry. Web dating can tell you more about yourself rather than the people you chat to. It's quite easy to get into a fantasy world and projecting your ideal person onto the anonymous person you've fallen for.
"Looking depserate" - don't feel that way. It's a positive if you really want a serious relationship. Compared to sitting in a bar for several hours it's not at all desperate!
I do know people who've met and had happy relationships via web dating so you may one of the lucky ones. Good luck!

It's pot luck! I know many people who got really disappointed if i also personally know two couples who met on line and went to get married after a couple of years!
I don't think that web dating makes anyone look desperate! My two friends (One woman and one man) simply went on web dating because of pressures of work (Both nurses) anti social hours, shift system etc. And it worked for them, if it didn't work for other people.

yes it works if your lucky enough to meet the right person. i met my boyfriend on the internet and 2 years later we are living together and soon to get engaged.
at the end of the day u can only look desperate if u think you look desperate. who care what other people think!

I know some that have met from dating sites and have gotten married. I don't think it's desperate. Just be careful, there are alot of wackos out there.

Please don't be afraid of it. There are basic guidelines about safety at the sites you can read up on. Morally, you get what you give. I saw a neighbor/co-worker chat with men at the same site I used, but the difference was that she chatted sex and the men she met used her up or she used them... who knows.
I met my husband on-line. We are married now for 2 years and very happy. My advice is to keep it clean and be yourself. You can find a soul mate this way. God knew computers would be invented and that you would get on there, so don't doubt that your soul mate is looking for you from afar! Good luck!

I think it works.
I met my husband via dating direct.
I was not desperate, plus i didn't and still don't care what people think; it was my future and happiness not other peoples

I think thats kind of low
to be in a relationship with someone you'll never meet,
and its the internet its hard to trust someone if you only know them through a computer

its not desperste hun i have met people on line and they are now very good friends i have not found romance yet but im still looking good luck and just be careful x
