You sound disapointed. I wanted to be married in a loving relationship and financially secure at 50. I am passed 50 and still working at it. That is life.

What is your life like....at 50!
Im 50 too, and I find myself bringing up 2 of my grandsons aged 9 and 7. I feel much younger than what I look.
I feel that the years have taught me a lot, which is helpful to others (hopefully) and I look back and see where I could have done better in certain situations, and choose to not make the same mistakes in the future.
I feel fulfilled in life, and that is down to the fact that I am a Christian. I can see that a plan and a purpose was purposed for me for my life. I am not afraid of dying as such, because of my faith, but I find the older I get the more funerals I seem to attend!
As a yongster, I used to think that people in their 40's or 50's were very old, but now that I am 50, I still feel young, and sense that I still have much to contribute. I think I will always feel that way.
I'm more at peace with myself now that ever, and know that I can never go through worse than what I have been through so far in my life, so that helps.

Haven't you heard - 50 is the new 40! I am almost 53 and life has never been better. I have a great job, workout 5 days a week at the gym and am in a wonderful second marriage with a man six years younger than me. I have wisdom and respect in my field of work that only comes with age. When I turned 50 I decided to go blond and grew my hair out despite what people say about "older women " having long hair. If you are not happy with your life - it is certainly not too late to make changes. Try a new hairstyle, go back to work if you are not currently working, start going to the gym ( I didn't start until I was 41 and ran my first marathon at the age of 43.) Change your style of dress maybe? I'm not saying you should start dressing like a teenager - but we women in our fifties don't have to wear elastic waist pants and flowered blouses. Change is good - no, GREAT!

I'm also 50 and totally surprised by everything. My husband took off and left, so I went back to school to start a career. I feel kind of odd, but life has to go on.

I hoped to reach 60, and I have achieved that. So that is a blessing, just like life.
You don't say whether your life is good or bad at 50. I hope it is the former.
