Why do well-educated women reduce to becoming physical objects, appeasing and satisfying male chauvinism?
Its ironical to see that while on one hand we hear and feel that the women are progressing on all fronts, on the other hand we see them yielding to the same male dominance and chauvinism that had them oppressed for centuries.
Why is it essential to wear bare-minimum, reduce your entire intellectual self to a physical object to appear modern, cool and appealing?
Some women argue that why we shouldn't do what guys have been doing for ages. Isn't that a very ridiculous argument? In the process of evolving and progressing, shouldn't we get intellectually better!
Nothing to defend the men, we have been wild and ugly. But deep inside, all of us have waited for that woman to come in and tame us, make us civilized.

Alot of the problem is the media which fools us into believing that looking 'hot' and acting ditzy(a la Paris or Jessica)is the only way for women to be percieved as sexy.We are made to believe that a woman should only look good and that sucess and intelligance on our own terms is a pipe dream.Women should realize that true sexiness and empowerment is in being intelligent, having something to say(besides 'that's hot'), and being successful on your own terms, not in some false'Pussycat Dolls' way.Class is better than sleaze any day no matter what the media is hyping.

The problem is sexism, but not in the way that you think I am stating it. Women who are comfortable with their sexuality are often branded as whores. When did it become wrong for women to enjoy sex? Why are men so uptight about empowered women? Why are women so offended by women who are enjoying themselves in the same way men do? The problem isn't that these women are "lowering themselves", the problem is that men judge them for it. Just my thoughts. As far as "intellectually evolving" goes, If you look at all of it from a logical standpoint, babies would come from select groups of parents and would be made in a laboratory. Women are not the only people oppressed by chauvinism, the enlightened man is as well. Good Question.
Add in: I am a happily married 28 year old stay at home Dad. I guess I'm not sexist.

I think the number one answer is low self esteem. I think it does take a strong, confident woman to compete in this world today. This is a male dominated society, women need to be aggressive, yet soft when at home or leisure. I feel women should and do adapt well to different situations. It is unfair to group all women in one group, because we are all different.Men have been wild and ugly,so some women react to this in negative ways,I said some. Most women handle this well and play the game, because they must.I believe their are a lot of very smart women in the work force who "Use what they've got to get what they want", and that's not all bad.....

It is because being seen as a "sex-goddess" is very uplifting to a woman's self-esteem and her self-pride.
Most women that do such things are low on funds or low on self esteem and they are just trying to pick themselves up...Others are just born with that attitude.
IT IS ALSO because some of those women (i.e. Paris Hilton) are spoiled their entire lives and think that the only important thing in life is looks and beauty.
It is unfortunate that some women subject themselves to pornographic cinema "acting"
That is something i am strongly opposed to and morally against.
NO woman should EVER have to do something so degrading...
Modeling on the other hand is a career that pays VERY well to sophisticated women. Modeling is also a business, not only to the agencies, but to the Models themselves. It teaches them how to finance and in most cases it pays for their college.

It is not a requirement for women to wear less. If you dress like a sex object, no one will take you seriously. I work with many professional, well educated women and the over exposed types are in the minority.
If you a talking about after hours events like clubs, etc., that's all about advertising and sex. Face it, clubs are places to "hook up". If you're out partying at 3 am, you're not displaying your education.
Finally, men have been doing stupid things to impress women since the dawn of time. Who among us has not been injured trying to impress a girl?

This is HOW they have progressed. Dont you see they have all the power. Women have been using it all through history. Until recently it was looked down upon so women were taught not to use their sexuality to get anything. They have just recently started using in a large scale. Women can have anything they want. Right or wrong, it doesnt change that it is true.

We're still sexual beings and to attract a mate, we will still resort to our base instincts as well.
But those who remain at that level and do not return to their advanced state of being, those are the ones I concider sad cases.
