Old timey remedy - never fails -
Take out oven racks
Put old rag (terrycloth is best) on oven 'floor'
Pour liquid ammonia on rag, 'till saturated
Close oven door
12 hours later --- open oven door, 'till strong odor dissipates
take out and discard ammonia rag (does great to put in washer now, alone, and run HOT cycle - cleans soap scum off tub)
wipe down all surfaces with paper towels - then damp rag
This process works also for stove tops - but not as well; they can't be kept in confined area (as the oven is, with door)

A great product which I have used on ovens and stove tops and also outdoor grills is a product called Orange Clean by the Orange Glo company. It has a clean fresh scent, works very well and doesn't have a lot of the toxic chemicals in its ingredients like a lot of oven cleaners. Oven cleaners generally are very toxic and I won't use them around pets or family. The packaging does recommend that you do used the product in a well ventilated area. After use the fresh clean scent will linger in the air and everyone will think your entire house is so fresh and clean smelling, they will think you are a great housekeeper. Everything helps..ha,ha. In my area I can buy the product at most retail stores or supermarkets. The company website is www.greatcleaners.com for more information. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY A NEW STOVE!!! I can only hope that answer was a joke, most of us cannot afford to replace appliances when they are dirty. Good luck to you.

Put a thin coat of oil on where you want to clean. leave for about half an hour. Then take a steel wool pad (not soapy ones) and lightly scrub across the sticky stuff. wipe up with a paper towel.
Repeat the process if need be. when it is all gone, wash as usual.
This should do the trick. No odors and effective.
Hope
P S If you scrub too hard with the steel wool pad you may scratch the finish. It should work for you by only rubbling lightly

do what my wife does and go buy a new one, just kidding. u should heat the oven to the hottest temp, the light bulb will blow, (so take it out first) and it should burn it to ash and then try to clean it, but wait till it cools a little before u add the cleaner

Have you tried soda crystals?you can get them from any supermarket or hardware shop. You just sprinkle it on wet it abit, leave it for a while, then use a green scourer. worth a try.Oh and vinegar is a good one!
