I am buying a bed online and the thing says "you'll get a shipping quote later"!

If you are buying it online, they may simply drop ship it to you or they may have warehouses across the country. If it is shipping from New York, then it could be $200+ (My girlfriend wanted to ship a desk from CA to NY and was quoted $200).

sounds fishy. I would think the shipping would be more that the cost of the bed and certainly more than the bed is worth. What is so important that you want a bed from across the country? Certainly you must be able to get the same thing in CA. for much less?

Don't trust that.....shipping cargo also goes not only by weight but also by volume.....IE...it can be more expensive to ship a large box of light bulbs than it can to send a small heavy parcel.
