Whenever tectonic movement shifts Britain closer to the equator. The only reason it isn't brutally cold there all the time is because of the Gulf of Mexico swooshing warm water across the Atlantic (ya - swoosh is a technical term).

Probably at the same time we get one here on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, Canada. Like Britain, we're just off the coast of the mainland and partway into the Atlantic. And, yes, it's raining again. Was nice and warm yesterday but I had to work so I guess I missed our one fine summer day.

That is scheduled by the Dept. of Weather for the UN. They are mad about the Brits being angry at Blair (no matter he was reelected) and have therefore not scheduled a decent summer until the year 2014. I thought this was common knowledge.

Be patient. I understand that the Ice Age is receding, the polar ice is melting, and global warming is well underway. When Florida and California are under sea water, Britain's beaches will be loaded with American tourists.

We've been having temparatures of up to 32 degrees and you're complaining?! You should be doing a rain dance right now because if we don't get enough rainfall then you'll be complaining even more if you have to stand in the street and get your water from taps which is a strong possibility in the near future. No rain = no water to drink. End of.

sorry, you folks in britain just happen to live where the Gulf stream drops its warm water. thats at least why it rains so much but doesnt get at cold as it does here in the midwest usa.
dont forget you are an island in the northern latitudes which means that you have water moderating your climate but high latitudes making it chillier.
