I have over 280 comics books and i am running out of room. Right now I have been storing them in cardboard boxes. I'm running out of room in those boxes.

What are some good ways of storing lots of comic books?

Also i don't plan on getting rid of any of them.

That's not a lot of comic books. You should however get storage bags that are specially made to protect them from dust and moisture. Try these:

Always store in a cool, dry place. If you're running out of closet space, try underneath kitchen cabinets away from food and chemicals, add some more shelving to open walls, etc. I do not recommend storing them in basements, attics or garages because heat and moisture can adversely affect the pages, inks and glues on existing comic books and baggies.

A lot of good answers here.

And a couple bad ones.

I've got over 5000 plus comic books; in long boxes, all in Mylar bags and the majority of them with cardboard backing.

You can also go the expensive route and get the protective plastic sheeting, but for what it's worth, I think that getting the long boxes and the Mylar sheets and cardboard is worth it and it's cheap for the protection - a bag of 1000 Mylar is about 5 to 6 dollars, I believe. (It's been a while since I've bought them, I have a LOT left over.) The long boxes are about 4 to 6 dollars apiece, but as it stands right now, you only need one. I have over 8 of them, filled, plus stacks here and there.

Now, for the bad answers: do NOT, I repeat, do not use mothballs or moisture absorbent packets IN with the individual comics. They will come into contact with the paper and do chemical damage. You could use them outside of the long boxes, but the advantage you'd gain would be slightly above zero as long as you kept the boxes in a dry cool room, like a basement or a closet.

Purdys and Toodo answers are the best solution

Get some Mylar bags and the cardboard backings and put you comics inside them. Then store them in long boxes. Ask a comic book store if they have any or go to the recommended sites

Don't let them get yellow or water damaged if you can help it , it will bring their values to nil

Comic bookstores generally sell two different capacity-sized boxes for storing comic books for collectors; they are sized to fit comic book dimensions. You can also buy sleeves and backing boarding to keep the comics relatively air-tight to protect them while they are in the storage boxes.

After that, you'll have to figure where to store the boxes. If you live in a large house with a finished basement, there's usually a storage spot under the stairs and/or a hidey hole. Or you can buy a large wardrobe shelfing unit to store the boxes.

Go to a comics shop and buy the mylar bags and cardboard backings if you're not already doing that. You can also buy those long-running boxes that you see comics filed in at the shops.

Whatever you do, don't store them in a hot or damp part of your house. It makes them degrade more rapidly.

Digital, in the computer. There are softwares that allow people to make digital books at home you could make a digital collection- photograph each page w- digital camera, scan, hey .... it might take time but how much do you love them ...don't old comic book stores have plastic covers on each comic book

just remember to not let anyone get a hold of them...lets say a hacker or even anyone you show them to...do not share your files on the internet....

You can use super size big Ziplock storage bags line them with 2 or 3 moth balls and put some moisture absorber like the ones you find in hand bags which come in a small white sachet. Then line them up 10 in a row in each row so that you can line them up evenly. If you store it like this it doesn't take much space and you can guard them against any damage.
