Canada has always been it's own nation. It was founded by the French taken over by the English and has been part of the English Commonwealth of Nations for a good many years. We have our own Constitution; and even if hasn't been under British rule or control for a good number of years now we still feel that the British Monarchy is ours. Our military bands still play God Save the Queen during military ceremony and we do have our own government loosely based on the British form of Parliament.

Geographically we are attached to the U.S. Culturally, we are similar but there are differences. We are more of a socialist state for example. And last I checked we were our own country. But it appears that shall change soon now that we have Lil Georgie Jr., oops, excuse me, Stephen Harper, in power now.

P.S. Would you please learn how to spell? It isn't hard to learn. A good dictionary can help tremendously.
