The book is about a teenage girl living with her family in a trailer in West Virginia. It is set somewhere between 1950 & 1990. She has an older sister, a younger brother, and a drunk set of parents. She was about 15, and her boyfriend was older. The only other thing I remember is that the story did have some sexual undertones. I'm trying to find this book for my adolescent literature class in college. Thanks :)

The only thing I could come up with was a book by Betsy Byars, Summer of Swans. I'm still looking though. I don't give up easy. (Con't) The more and more I read about this book it seems close to your story. The girl is 14, she has an older sister with a boy friend, and she has a 10 year old brother Charlie who suffered an accident that left him mentally retarded. I sure hope this is it. Charlie wondered off one day and she went out looking for him and found him around the pond of Swans. I'm going to have to buy or check the book out to see if it has all your info. I'm trying.
