Given the worldwide division the creation of the State of Israel has caused, do you think it was a good idea? I know hindsight is always 20/20, and it's (Israel's) existence cannot be undone. Israel's opponents say that Israel was 'imposed' on them, and it's supporters say that Israel is a 'bastion' of Western democracy in the Middle East. My question is simple and really needs only a YES/NO answer. But feel free to motivate or elaborate on your answer, though. I think we have heard the one 'We are the Chosen people' enough, so that one doesn't really convince anybody.
And please, this is not an 'anti-semitic' question, it is a poll. If you feel offended by the question, ignore it. I am NOT suggesting the destruction of Israel, but a solution acceptable to ALL involved in the conflict MUST be found, and soon. The problem is not going to go away by itself, and the longer it continues, the worse it will get. Once I have the results of this poll, I have further questions.
Thanks.

Your 'family sqabbles' or 'sibal rivalry' (sic) is affecting the rest of the world! And it's been going on for centuries! Cain and Abel? Well, I for one want no part of it!
Moses: The reason I asked for a Yes/No answer was to aviod having to read gobbledygook, like yours.

First of all what sort of idiot would say a "yes or no" answer is all that is required!
The creation of Israel is not the issue since this is a done deal.
The question now is: "How do we resolve the Palestinian issue!" (this by itself would go a long way towards resolving Israels "right to exist")
All the people in the Middle East, (Jew, Arab, Persian, Kurd etc.)come from the same ancestory so this is more of a family squabble than anything else, even though it does make the family squabbles in the Balkans look like a picnic!
Maybe one way to resolve this is this quote from my book "The Plain Truth About God-101" (what the church doesn't want you to know!) This section deals mainly with the use of religious ideals to justify human desires.

** Once we can find a way to separate our self-image from our “world-image by way of religion,” it might be a whole lot easier to look at other viewpoints and not feel threatened.
In other words, if we can stop looking upon ourselves as a “good Jews” or “good Muslims” or “good Christians” or “good Rastafarians” or whatever, then we can concentrate on just being “GOOD PEOPLE!” -A.W.J.

**Anything of a religious nature that is explained by other humans as being the "correct way" or "correct interpretation" of Divine will is by its very nature wrong. It is always tainted with the underlying motives of the interpreter whether they realize it or not! -A.W.J.

Our relationship with God is strictly between the Almighty and ourselves. Anyone who attempts to be a go-between in matters concerning the Divine is following their own agenda and trying to mislead us into accepting them as the ultimate authority.
(In Gods name of course!)
To put it metaphorically, by it's very nature, spirituality and attaining a state of Grace is God moving amongst us. While religion and the conversion of the infidels is the work.
(The metaphorical “devil” that is inside us all - and tries to get us to do things for our own selfish ends.)
This is where we have to start employing “basic beliefs” as a measure of what is “Gods Will” (since it is self-evident), and what is actually the secret agenda of human desires and arrogance.
(Then there is a whole section on "Basic Beleifs!"

answer: No. thousands of people residing in refugee camps without houses to go back to. No united states needed them. The provide of a small sliver of land in Africa wasn't serious. Let's see.You take the Madate of Palestine with a majority Arab population, and turn it's government over to a minority that has warred with the majority for 2000 years.
Then when the majority fights to regain it's lands you support the smaller group, then wonder why that majority hates you.
A better idea would have been to let Palestine ruin itself and stay out of it.
