a podcast simply is a show made for an IPOD, or other MP3 player, it is usually in mp3 format and pertains to everything from news, to music. Just a radio show recorded for download.

It's like TV show type stuff and you can subscribe to them.
When u subscribe to them it just means that if a new episode comes out, it will automatically download if for u.
