Me and my husband has decided to have a baby. Well I got off BC about a month and 1/2. Unprotected sex all the time, I even bought 2 differ kinds of ovulation tests, one you pee on and the microscope you spit on. anyways there was 2 days that both tests said i was ovulating with was on the 27th and 28th of June. And I am expecting my period today, still nothing. I tested with First Response (the 5 days before your missed period) and got a negative yesterday. What do you think??

It's possible you tested too early. Supposedly, the earliest you can test and get an accurate result is 8 days post ovulation, but it can also take two weeks or longer to get a positive if you are pregnant. The pregnancy hormone can take longer to be detected for some women. I would test again if you still haven't gotten your period in a couple of days.

Also, it can take your hormones several months to regulate after getting off birth control, so that could be the reason for your period being delayed.

i took the first response and i got a negative also if the you ovulation kit said you ovulate on those days and u had sex also then what i would do is wait another 2 days to a week and take another test or you can go to your doctor and ask for a blood pregnancy test because that shows up a week after conception
Good Luck

it is possible to have a false negative but not a false positive . . did you use your first urine of the day? that is your most concentrated . . . you should wait a few more days and test again if you didn't get your period by then . . . just because you just went off bc doesn't mean you will immediately become pregnant . . . besides, half the fun is trying ..... if you still haven't had luck after a year of trying, time to see the doctor for tests to see what is going on . . .

If it is negative then you aren't pregnant. I used First Response 5 days before my period and it showed a positive result and I am pregnant.

yes you tested to early.... i am about to have 4 children and im not even 16... wait 2 more days and go get a blood test... you can see if your pregnant, and you can get your self checked out for anything that could hurt the baby or you, that is what i would do. ^-^

Emotional and BC (hormone type) changes will affect your ovulation so wait for another week or so before testing again.

Test again with a different brand (like EPT) in a few days. If its still negative, keep trying.
Good Luck!
