who is the executor of the estate? who is the attorney that drew up all the paperwork? talk to them.

The will is a matter of public record...it must be filed upon death of your mother. Why do you not want to go to your brother? I would hope that someone in the family is the executor of the estate, otherwise, there may be nothing left to either you or your brother...lawyers can gobble up money faster than anyone. Good luck.
