I can think of numerous options, having been in that position a few times:

The starving students friend,Ramen noodles, are usually at least 8 packages for 1.00,sometimes 10 for a 1.00.Not that nutritious, but filling.Especially if you get a package of frozen mixed vegies to add (prob'ly about a dollar for a 16 oz. pkg if you get a store brand.

Pasta (again, store brand is usually 80 cents to a buck for a 16 oz. pkg),and you can get sauce for 1.50 or so a jar.

Eggs are cheap, and you can get a loaf of bread and have food for several days. (The most nutritious choice).

McD's dollar menu is an option...double cheeseburgers are a buck.

Just a few ideas..your local grocery store will yeild wonders if you look around.

I think the Taco Bell value menu would be the most efficient use of your money.
Or, invest it, wait for some return, and go to Red Lobster.
