Quit using that phone, get one of your own, with your own account, and keep on trucking.
I don't know what 'search4' is, but he could be checking up on you. Why not just turn off that phone and throw it in a drawer?
(Does it matter if it's legal, if he's invading your privacy?)

i must go alone with the first answer you got. But then this x is still being nice to you to let u keep on using the cell phone. Most X's would have the account canceled. R U stupid or what? How the **** can something like that be "ILLEGAL?"

Contact the phone company - explain your situation - and get your own phone with a new phone number. You problably signed up as a joint account - if he is still paying the bills, he can have access to your addressbook and incoming calls. Cut the cord and move on - Good luck

It's his phone and his account. Get your own.
Since he's not cancelled the line, you're probably not illegal, though. By failing to cancel the service, he's given at implicit approval for you to continue using it. If he changes his mind, you'll have to get your own phone and service.
Sounds like pretty decent guy, at least on that issue...

You are still using his phone from when you were together.
The account his his, so the phone is really still his phone, not your phone. You merely need to get a new phone of your own from a provider.

If the cell phone is under his name, it is entirely legal for him to do whatever he wants to that line. He can change the number, disconnect it, whatever. I would suggest getting a line of your own, that way you would have control of it.
