We fight the war there, so we don't have to fight the war here. Bin Laden already promised to pull his Al Qaeda ("Insurgents" to those that thought they were different) out of Iraq, if the US and teh Coalition leave Iraq. He promised to allow the war to move to the US so innocent Muslims in the Middle East will not die.
Isn't that so nice of him? And people want us out of Iraq. Start buying ammo to protect yourselves at home if you believe that.
The terrorists have no country, and their home of origin is irrelevant. To them, this is a religious war, not a geo-political war. Al-Zarqawi, Al-Qaeda's number two man was in Iraq the whole time, before we invaded, he was brokering with Saddam for the WMDs he bought from Russia (which the Russians moved to Syria and Iran before the invasion).

The war on terror only has a small part in the war in Iraq. This was a convenient excuse to start the invasion of Iraq. It is even possible that the invasion of Iraq may turn out to be fuel to the terrorists since the invasion of a Moslim country is not well excepted.
The only win in Iraq would be to leave Iraq in the hands of a strong and capable government and with some form of real democracy to be an example of positive change in the middle east.

The conflict in Iraq is getting more and more entangled. When Americans stormed in it was cake walk. There was no resistance at all. Too good to be true. They should have taken a hard look at this and not celebrated the way they did. Never ever underestimate your enemy. Disbanding Saddam's Army is another debatable question. In Afghanistan there was Northern Alliance to fight. Americans used fire power with almost no casualties. In Iraq they had to fight street battles in unfamiliar surroundings and not knowing who is friend and who is foe. As the body bags started returning came the adverse publicity. Most importantly surrounding countries especially Syria &Iran have added fuel to fire by overt and covert support to foment trouble. All in all it was badly planned adventure with no clear exit strategy. To top it all WMD which was the original cause of invasion were nonexistent making the intervention look unjust and uncalled for in the eyes of the international community. It is a log-jam worse than Vietnam. The drain in resources because of war in Iraq has one good fall out though. Americans are hesitant to press the war button as far as Iran is concerned. Only time will tell how it all will end.

Your question is silly. The war in Iraq is only one way the war on terrorism is being fought. Winning it is like winning a battle but not the war. What gives you this impression?

Iraq wasn't about the war on terror. It was about ousting a brutal dictator that was ignoring and breaking every UN sanction and agreement. The terrorist do want to use the vulnerability of a new government for their own devices and strong hold, so in that sense the longer we keep them in the caves the better.

certain, the conflict in Iraq ought to correctly be gained. prevailing may be helping Iraqis construct a competent authorities it quite is an best buddy in the conflict on terrorism—compared to Saddam's Iraq, which changed into an enemy in that conflict. this can be a significant victory. that is real that Iraq will be a violent position for decades. yet multiple the forces that make it violent—radical Islamists and Saddam's Baathist supporters—are sworn enemies of america. If we turn our backs on them now, their danger will in ordinary words boost.

Yes dream on...if you win this war, you only get the oil...as for the terrorists...just wait..I am sorry to say this, but 9/11 was only the appetizer...your troops cannot fight an invisible enemy.
Just watch nascar/rednecar and enjoy while you still can.
See you in hell.
