When I think of India, or the people of India, I think of a culture much older than ours, with its own ancient wisdom, that the Western world could possibly benefit from if it would only take the time.
Although I'd love to see India,I've never been there, but I think it's probably a land of contrasts--great beauty along with great poverty. Exotic, but distressed as well. Still,a nation with a fascinating history and a noble people.
And I hope it won't sound shallow to add that I also love Indian food.

Well, when you say India I typically think of the country obviously, and when you say Indians, I think of our Native American ancestors who resided these lands before us. I'm sorry I'm just not a racist type of person, and I feel that automatically thinking of one certain people is racist in its own sort of way.
