Have you thought of googling him? Maybe you can find something about his work and how to have the pieces appraised by doing that. Not knowing where you live, have you thought of taking them to a jewlery appraiser in your area to see what the value might be there? If you do, make sure the appraiser knows the name of the craftsman and ask for a retail evaluation, not a wholesale one.

Having made and sold jewelry for a number of years, I must tell you that the value of any piece is completely subjective. It is worth only what the buyer is willing to pay, and some dealers will underprice it, just as others may overprice it. Be aware of that when you look and ask for the value of your earrings.
