No, as of right now you do not need a passport to take a cruise from Florida to the Bahamas. As long as you take the cruise before December 31st 2006. After that date you will need a passport.

What you do need right now to cruise to the Bahamas is a drivers license and a certified copy of your birth certificate.

NO!!! you do not pick a passport in case your cruise deliver departs from a US port, AND your cruise ends before the accurate of this 365 days (December 31, 2007). yet a passport will be required of all US voters to reenter the USA of a starting up January a million, 2008. once you get the passport you'd be set for 10 years. the web website lower than will answer all of your questions about passports. besides, in case you're taking a cruise this calendar 365 days and for some reason (like you get sick) and performance to fly decrease back to the U. S. then you definately will pick a passport.

check with the cruise line As of Jan 2006 all travelers who travel outside of the united states require a passport. you can no longer travel just with a birth certificate & DL.if you are United States citizen.check out Miamidade.gov click on the seach item box and type team metro or gov on the go

Not yet. But starting around mid-December (they say January but the lines are actually telling guests to bring them around mid-December) you will have to have one. The best thing to do is ask your travel agent or the cruise line if you need one. Chances are, if they haven't asked you yet for your passport number, you won't need one.

probably cuz its out of the country. i needed one going on a cruise from la to ensanada, mexico. or if you don't wanna get a passport, some places will let u use ur birth cerificate.
