No, this is perfectly normal as your uterus begins to grow to accomodate the pregnancy. The only time you need to be really worried is if the cramping is accompanied by bright red bleeding. You will experience this cramping a lot, especially in the first trimester.

No not necessarily. With my first pregnancy I didnt get cramps till almost 17 weeks. With this pregnancy (Im only 10 weeks) Ive been having cramps for 5-6 weeks. Sometimes they feel like I have my period and my back hurts really bad. I had a sonogram done at 5 weeks and had blood work about 4 times in June to make sure my levels were still rising. I have my first offical prenatal checkup tomorrow so hopefully the Dr can tell me if they think it's ligaments and muscle stretching, twins, triplets or something else crazy lol. Good luck.

Every body and person are different. And for that matter, though I only have one child, I have been told that even EVERY PREGNANCY is different for the same person. The thing is, cramps and spotting can be cause for concern. I personally would go to the doctor with this, and any other concerns and just ask what to consider danger signs, versus what is not dangerous. You should have all the information you can get (especially if this is a first pregnancy). Also, consider going to the birthing classes. The more informed you are, the less you will worry. But, if it is your first pregnancy you will still worry a bit. Take care, and remember: WHEN IN DOUBT CHECK IT OUT!!

no it doesn't. I had very sharp cramps and some bleeding my first 4 months of pregnancy. The hospital told me it could be a process called latching. I am now 37 weeks and due to have my daughter. Just take it easy, don't lift anything over 10lbs.

Yes they are normal. I'm having them too. Mine come and go. I get them when I stand up or pee.
When I miscarried I had them constantly. If they're constant, severe cramping in your first trimester it's a bad sign. Especially when accompanied by bleeding.
If you're worried, see your doctor and ask him. Here's the thing, if you are miscarrying, there's NOTHING they can do about it this early on...
Good Luck!

No, it doesn't mean you are having a miscarriage. You should call and obstetrician and make an appointment though. Unless you are bleeding and clotting heavily I would say there is nothing to worry about. Congrats on the baby:-)

not really because they say when the the baby implants itself that you may cramp a little if you r not having bleeding then you r fine but if you think you r then i suggest you take things easy don't do any heavy lifting stay away from stress and just relax as much as you can

This happned to me too. Usually these cramps are just there because your uterus is stretching. You will probably feels these every once in a while as your uterus grows. But, I would call my doctor and double check because there is always that possibilty of having a misscarriage.
