You should otherwise you may give an answer that has nothing to do with the question. What does your answer say about you? The details ARE important, otherwise the asker would not have provided them.

So do you?

NO! It's all about me me me and points! gimme points, gimmegimmegimme!
OK, I am being sarcastic. I really do read the details and generally if the question is something I know nothing about I go to the next one. Sometime I find a really good question and love the answers and actually think I might be learning a thing or two! I don't answer every question cause I don't know everything about everything.

I always read all of the details and although I'm kind of new here, sometimes there just aren't questions worth reading the details.

Your's was great though. I would hope everyone would take the time to read everything if they are going to answer a question.

yes, obviously you know they say

"you cant judge a book by its cover". well how can you answer someone's question without having a clear idea about what EXACTLY the person wants.

if u dont read the details you not only waste your time but also that of the asker

most of the time...but for all you "askers" out there, please keep your details SHORT & SWEET! Long, drawn out explanations and details within a question make it boring to read, and I end up just passing and moving on to the next question.

well, duh i read the details or there's no point in answering cuz you basically dont' know the question. Like what my tutor says, if you miss 5% of it, you might as well miss the whole 100
