I named my 1month old boy Ashton Edward. But I like Jeremy Thatcher better. I let my family talk me out of it though and now the birth certificate says Aston Edward. I don't mind the name but I still like the other one better. But now I am thinking of changing it. Is it worth going through all the hassle? Which name do you guys like better? Thanks for the help!

I usually like to look at the meaning of names and that is what I use to decide. Looking at both I Like Ashton Edward. While Ashton means 'ash tree settlement', Edward means 'Guardian of prosperity or wealthy guardian or guardian'.
Jeremy is hebrew for 'God will uplift or appointed by God' while Thatcher means 'roof fixer'.
The hassle of changing a birth certificate is harrowing and what do you do if in a few days you wish you hadn't gone through the trouble.
Personally, I wouldn't want Thatcher in any boy's name and look at Ashton Kutcher (He is really cute and he's a star). If I was your boy, I would love to associate with that name.

Ashton Edward is a very nice name. I like it much better than Jeremy Thatcher. Do you have a problem with the name or that your family talked you out of the name you prefered? Next baby, let everyone guess the name you chose. Remember, only you and the father will be there when the papers are filled out.

You should have named the child what you wanted to name him. If your family has that much control then what will happen when it comes to raising the child. (you will bump heads alot and remember you are the parent) You could stick with the name and use Jeremy Thatcher for your next child or you can change it. Changing it now will cost money since it's on the birth certificate already. If you do decide to change the name I would suggest you go on line and get a do it yourself kit. Don't pay a lawyer for this. You'll only have to pay court cost which is only a few hundred dollars. If you really want to change the name, do it now before he gets too used to it. Any time with in the next 6 months would be good so you won't confuse him or anyone else.

I like Jeremy Thatcher. Ashton Edward sounds so tight-wad. Go ahead and change it if it's not TOO much of a nuisance.

I think that Ashton is a better name than Jeremy. Jeremy is a plain name and lot of people have that name. Ashton is less popular. Not to mention how could you let someone else talk you out of your childs name.

I like Ashton Edward the best. It's early so give it some time; it might grow on you. I, personally, do not think it is worth the hassle.
