This was a great question! One I didn't know.

Marijuana is the most commonly used illicit drug. According to the 2004 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), approximately 96.8 million Americans ages 12 and older reported trying marijuana at least once during their lifetimes, representing 40.2% of the population ages 12 and older. Approximately 25.5 million people (10.6%) reported past year marijuana use and 14.6 million people (6.1%) reported past month marijuana use.2

Additional 2004 NSDUH survey results indicate that 12.7% of past year marijuana users used the substance on 300 or more days in the past 12 months, meaning 3.2 million persons used marijuana on a daily or almost daily basis over a 12-month period. The number of youths aged 12 to 17 using marijuana daily or almost daily declined from 358,000 in 2002 to 282,000 in 2003 but increased to 342,000 in 2004.3

I'd say the percentage is highest in the 15-25 age bracket, where people are the least responsible and the most experimental. In that age range, it's probably around 30-40%. On the whole, considering the entire population, it's maybe 10-15%.

A vast majority. At least over 50%. How unfortunate too. Smoking weed does nothing but screw up your priorities and kill your brain cells.

60% or higher- more people than we know smoke- if we would all just stand up for our rights we could get it legalized agian- think about it alcohol is FAR more dangerous than a little old joint.
