I have a '91 Jeep Wrangler with a 5 speed standarrtd shift. Some times I can't move the shift lever and have to really press hard on it to get it out of gear and into the next. It only happens when at a stand still or at very slow speeds (going from 1st to 2nd in traffic), never when driving highway. The clutch was replaced about 10,000 miles ago.

sounds like your clutch is not fully disengaging for some reason. I do believe that the 91 wrangler has a hydraulic master and slave setup. Check the level of the fluid to see if it is low. It will be a small resevour right next to your brake master cylinder. if it is low, your slave cylinder may be leaking. This happens very often when the clutch is changed in a vehicle. The new harder strain will cause the slave to blow a seal. If the slave is leaking, replace both the master and the slave cylinder.

First have you had that gear oil level in the trans checked lately. have the gear oil level checked, if it has never been changed, then have it changed. if the problem continues, then you may have a problem with a internal part of the transmission called a sycnronizer

I agree with crazytrain, it sounds very much like a slave cylinder problem.Check the fluid level because it,s easy to do, beyond that your need to have it checked out by a mechanic.

im commenting on the comment you left me when you said that not another dime should be spent on N.O

i think that you are partially right.. i think that they needto finish what they are doing, but after they get it safe, they need to let it be... i just wish that you would have stated your answer more like this.. i hate it when people judge N.O becuase of all the african americans we have living here.. its not right!

hope you agree
