Good Question. Religion was originally supposed to be universal. We were supposed to have one God and believe in that one God. The problem is there is soo many religions. Everyone has different opinions, and when different opinions come together, there is either compromise or war.

The term 'religion' is broad based and empty in it's connotation. Extremism can take many forms and certainly people can encompass anything into their religion (t.v., music, yourself, etc.).
It's when people want to force their viewpoints on others that they supercede the limits of social order. The destruction wont come though unless the omnicient God of all allowed it, otherwise He wouldn't be God. Men are often left to their own vices, they either believe or dont, the consequences of such has their own result. God hasn't caused the pain, sin in man has.

In todays world there is no need of Religions. But in the ancient times religions were important becoz at that there were no Laws. So People who live in particular place or area made their rules and principals (which becomes there religions)to stop wrong deeds. Today there are Courts of Law but at dat time there were Religious courts. Let me give u one example. Great Scientist Bruno was killed by Christians becoz he told the fact (which was against Bible) dat earth is revolving around the sun, but today we know the fact.
Other than this there is one more question arises, at dat time why Kings or Rulers of the country Preached lot abt. Religions, God and Luck ? Becoz they wanted dat People cannot arose their voice for their Rights and for wat they deserve... They wanted (even the political leaders/ministers of today) that people should think in such a way - "Wat ever is in our Luck we will get dat, and if its not in our luck we won't get it, OR We are satisfied wat God will give us ,wat ever God will do, he will definately do good." This type of mentality the rulers of the country wanted and wants even today among their countrymen. So they Preached lot abt. Relgions.
Now i just wanna request all my dear freinds dat Just keep scientific thinking and try to become Rationalist. No Religion in the world is totally right. Religions make our thinking non-scientific. They even give us wrong, unsuitable morals and teachings. No matter which ever religion it may be, Even Christianity, Hinduism, Islamic, Sikhism, etc.
People are believing God because there religious books says God exists, and they follow there religion blindly. Theists never Put questions on there religious teachings, why ?? I am not saying that All teachings of Religions are Wrong. We can follow the right morals, but on the other hand we must criticize the wrong morals and teachings. science is the only source of knowledge, and that religion is simply a distraction from the correct pursuit of information. At Last i just wanna make a request to everyone just read matter, articles, books etc. based on Rationalism and decide urself dat wat's the value of Science/ Scientific thinking and where religious thinking or Religions stands....
Scientific thinking and where religious thinking or Religions stands....

I wonder if maybe you are confusing religion with spirituality? I can only detect 2 purposes for religion, to control others and to feel superior because you are "right". Both of these lead to fanaticism. The truly spiritual people I've met are solitary followers of spiritual path. Any time you get a group of people together you get schemers manipulating them.

because i understand Christ in my opinion there is little question in my thoughts that He on my own is the thanks to salvation as He suggested! In my 34 plus years of association with Him by potential of prayer, the interest of God, many replied prayers ( many no individual else knew something about ), miracles previous what maximum individuals have ever witnessed, my personal impressive existence replace, the total absence of any withdrawals from 3 important addictive conduct, the salvation of my seven children, and the impressive testimony of many human beings I easily have commonly used and research that depended on in Him there ought to correctly be little question that He on my own is the thanks to salvation, everlasting existence and everlasting peace. The Bible does state that contained in the latter circumstances some shall leave from the religion giving heed to seducing spirits and the lies of the devil and be became to believing fables. those who say they're Christian and trust there is any incorrect way yet Christ are both liberal church individuals, spiritually illiterate or purely no longer Christians in any respect. I easily have studied the important religions of the international and many of the minor religious communities besides and locate no longer something that even comes on the point of my journey, because all of those different religions grant no personal, on a daily basis courting with God yet in ordinary words dogma and formality which in and of themselves by no potential provide significant and lasting pride.

First, it could if one religious extremist group wipes out all other groups, than kills themselves. Chances of that are slim.
Secondly, religion is all about keeping order and keeping people in line, but also it's about the why and how of doing that. That's why people are so vehement about their religion.
It is very scary to most people to think about the why's and how's of us existing, much less the way in which we should exist. Therefore, religion takes that burden for them. It provides the why, how, and way we can live.
(In my opinion, I like being able to think about it rather than trusting someone to tell me how it is.)

I think you have to realize that religion is not a single concept (such as eternal life), but is a system that allows people to justify (to themselves) ANY belief about any subject. Most people believe what they want to believe about themselves, life, and the universe. When logic and/or evidence can support their chosen beliefs, they credit that logic or evidence for giving them the belief in the first place. But when no logic or evidence is available to support their chosen beliefs, humans invent and embrace religions to try to justify what they choose to believe. Thus, religion has allowed people to justify to themselves, not just belief in an afterlife, but in genocide, discrimination against gays, abuse of children, repression of women, rejection of science, etc.

in order to get ourselves out of our current predicaments, a vast shift in consciousness is required. this takes some serious effort, appropriate education and practices, and dedication. most people are too busy with just surviving to "make this happen", sadly. keeping people distracted, too tired and too poor to give them the opportunity to work on this shift, is a key agenda item of the self-proclaimed "elite" who "own this planet". check out: www.educate-yourself.org, www.montalk.net, and www.davidicke.com, for insightful considerations in the area. and, if you'd like to get an interesting perspective on how, among many other ways, your tax dollars are being used to help murder you, directly, google: chemtrails. and, while your on google check out :bush crime family. plenty of food for thought . good luck.
