I watched the movie last night. Other than accomplishing 30 minutes of content over 2.5 hours, did anyone feel the movie lacked most of the things that made the first movie wonderful? What was with the dirty (non-funny) jokes? Why was it so confusing? And why would they want to save Jack in the last scene?

Did anyone feel this was just a big movie with special effects that was saved by a multi billion marketing campaign?

Thanks for the answers.

I thought it was ok... not as good as the first, but fun and a good set-up for the third. I didn't think it was that confusing. The plot was just complicated. As to why anyone would want to save Jack at the end, they all thought he had sacrificed himself to save them. The only one who knew that he hadn't was Elizabeth and she felt guilty because she betrayed him.

The first Pirates of the Caribbean was pretty good, but the second one didn't hold to the plot very well, it kept going off in different directions. The make-up artist and costume guys for that movie need an Oscar though. The crew members from the flying Dutchmen looked great and real. Outside of that I give Dead Mans Chest two thumbs down.

That's CAPTAIN Jack. Anyhow, so far he defeated all the bad guys. and he's the only one that will stab the heart. the only thing I didn't like was the music is too loud in the theaters. I didn't find it confusing. was it as good as the first? probably not, but it keeps to the stories well. Harry Potter sequels weren't as good as the first.

I LOVED IT! I didnt really like the ending. But i did like it. I dont know its just i wish they went on a bit more. But then that would ruin #3.
I did get confused about the story. Like who needed to do what to save their life and stuff. They did get off topic a lot i guess. .

i still like this one better than the first

What?!? The movie was friggin' awesome!! I went to the midnight showing on Thursday and I thought that it was well worth the wait. I thought it was setting up perfectly for the 3rd movie.

Yes, I agree with you. I couldn't keep up with the plot since everything was going so fast. It wasn't terrible, just not as good as the first one.

I saw the movie in its entirety. I loved it. Not just because I love Johnny Depp. We all have different tastes in movies.

Sequels aren't equals. What did they do that was new, entertaining and different?

Let's see what the Box Office says.
