Hi,

I just raised my wall on my raised floor. The wall is square. The problem is that the floor is bowing on the center. The center of the wall is fine. It is the edges of the wall that are not sitting on the floor. One end is off by 1/2 inch, the other is off the floor by over an inch. Can i just put shims under the gaps? or is there another way to make the wall sit on the floor?

Thanks in advance,

pb4sc

If you have a raised house, built on piers, one or more of the piers may have subsided. You can jack the foundation back to level and shim the sills. Your wall should then sit securely on the floor. This really is not as hard as it sounds, but it is a dirty job.

What size are we talking? Did you hang the wall on the ceiling? Than it should be fine. 1/2 an inch is not that much. Shim away. Just be sure it can not shift or slide.

Shims would work just fine. Just anchor the wall properly to the floor.

Shim it and anchor it to the floor with an appropriate anchor and you'll be ok.
