If the tranny is a stick shift, have the clutch checked. if it is a automatic and it shifts ok in 1st and 2nd, but slips going into 3rd. you most definitely have a internal problem. changing the fluid or filter will not resolve this. Take it to a reputable transmission shop for a diagonstic test.

I run a restoration save (hehe) and consider were given a nasty seize carry close cylinder my freind. the cups or seals or allowing the rigidity to circumvent lower back to the resrvoir which will make the seize pedal stick with the floor. its a competent theory to interchange the slave cylinder together yet in case you've not been loseing fluid and also you want to do it at the inexpensive, merely replace the carry close.

How many miles? is the level okay, does it do it cold or hot or both. worst case scenario. The forward clutch pack is going bad and you need a trans. There are a lot of variables.
