We are planning to move to san diego and are tring to decide which areas of the town are most gay friendly to live we would appreciate any advice or suggestions thanks !

The great thing about San Diego is that most of the areas do not see homosexuality or transgendered as a negative thing. Don't get me wrong there will always be closed minded people that can't deal with anyone outside their little bubble of life, but there do not seem to be many here in San Diego. I have many LGBT friends and they live all over San Diego. Hillcrest (just north of downtown SD near Balboa Park) seems to be the social gathering/living/working area for a majority of LGBT and I believe that is just where people feel free to express themselves and their sexual orientation in public. Also, there are a vast majority of specialty stores in Hillcrest that are marketed for LGBT persons. However, my friends live in Chula Vista, Scripps Ranch, La Jolla, UTC, North Park, El Cajon, Lakeside, Santee, La Mesa, Coronado and of course Hillcrest, but they view Hillcrest as a place to go and hang out and socialize.
It really depends on what type of neighborhood you want to live in. Except for the cost of living, the city and county on a whole is a great place to live.

Hillcrest is good, also Mission Hills, Pacific Beach, La Jolla, Ocean Beach, Pt. Loma, Coronado, City Heights, North Park...but the most gay friendly is probably Hillcrest.

Hillcrest. Not gay myself but Hillcrest is where most of the gays live.

Pick a neighborhood----any neighborhood. California is filled with cities just like Sodom and Gomorrha. You'll be able to ruin you life in just about any of them.
