this is relevant for cars (as far as I know) in the UK and South Africa.... Is there any other places that has it the same as us?

I believe the license plates are different colors to prevent sharing one set of plates on two vehicles. Also, the white front plate would be more visible to oncoming traffic at night.

What country? Not in the U.S. In states that have front plates they are the same.
