I met someone online about 2years ago. Since then we have formed a very close friendship. We only met in person two or three times. Lately I feel like our friendship is falling apart, eventhough my friend constantly reassures me that she feel the same way about me. It seems like she never calls me anymore or is always busy when I call. Do you believe im being silly to consider this person as my best friend? Do you believe that distance apart, how oftern you see someone and the amount of time you talk to them, all determine rather or not they are your close friend? Thanks for the answers.

well my best friend lives 18 hours away from me. Granted we have been best friends for 29 years. We will talk everyday, or go a couple of weeks without talking,. It just depends. As far as best friends go, i would rethink that term. Friends is a word that you cant take lightly. Friends is someone who will be there for you, bail you out when needed, be a shoulder to cry on, laugh at you and with you, and tell you that you really do look bad in that outfit. That is part of what i use as a guide line for calling someone a friend. So maybe you need to search closer to home to find a best friend.
and remember friendship doesnt happen over night. It takes months and years to develop.

Hi, umm no i don't think u r being silly in wanting to be good friends with this person. but yes i think u should always have a set of really good friends close by too. this way if u r in an emergency u will have someone to help u out immediately.
Real friends are always together, they never go apart.

well i have a best friends...pretty much across the country. but we still stay close. she's not gonna call every single second of the day...maybe only once a month...but with that long of a distance, people get lives.
