You are sadly mistaken. Religion is the cause of all evil in this world. Those robed dudes going to church and claiming themselves as religious drink, wine, dine and **** away to glory if they get the opportunity. So its all hypocrisy

Religion is just an organized set of beliefs.

The root of all good is hope, mercy, kindness, and tolerance. All the things that most major religions espouse, but that the followers of those religions often don't practice.

Religion is not the source if evil. Fanaticism, hatred and intolerance are the source of evil. It's the individuals who choose to hate and destroy in the name of religion that are the problem, not the underlying beliefs, which usually oppose these things.

Everyone does need to look deep inside themself. Pause, take a breath, and think about what we are doing and why. Does the fighting and hatred and prejudice really accomplish anything other than making people feel superior about their differences? If not, then maybe it's time for a change in perspective.

I don't believe that religion is the root of all that is good or evil. However, religion is used by many people as a crutch to lean on when times are bad. It is also easy to use religion as a reason for bad behavior.

But, mostly religion is used to fill in the voids in human knowledge. As one's knowledge and wisdom increases, religion morphs into a means for contemplating the human experience rather than a means for justifying war and discord.

Religon has been a tool that society has used to control
the minds of those who believe. It doesn't work very well
with those that don't. Questions need answers, not blind
faith.

If everyone was the same color, same religion, had the same name, looked exactly the same ... they'd fight over something else. It's human nature.
