AM radio signals bounce at night, they can cover thousands of miles. From California I have received stations in Boston, New York, Philadelphia. Have you ever received a station from a really long distance?

Awhile ago when FM broadcast wasn't around there were 50,000 WATT stations in the big cities. When I lived in Abilene Texas the furtherest AM Station I could receive was WLS from Chicago. That was strictly at night when lot's of your local stations would power down and then higher wattage stations would come in very clear. Other than that KOMA in Oklahoma City was the next one in line. There was Wolfman Jacks radio station down in Mexico that could be picked up clearly. Those were the days.
