Kinda what happened to me the other day with my son. "Mom I've got to tell you something, promise you won't get mad."

I lost my Apple laptop (the one I bought him for college at $2,500+). That would be considered the BAD NEWS.

The good news(?): "I know where I lost it."

AHHHHHHHH!!!

I always want the good news first. That way my happiness at the good news is only minimally tainted by the bad news coming. If I hear the bad news first, I dont feel as happy with the good news.

The bad news first. To get it out of the way. Then the good news to cheer me up and make me get over the bad news.

I want to say the bad news first just to be different from everyone else but I can't. I always go for the bad news first because the good news always softens the blow.

Bad news first so I can go through the emotions of it and then the good news. And it had better be real good news to offset the bad. Otherwise I may focus on the bad.

Always the bad first, Then the good. With the bad first you will feel mad or sad, but then with the good news you start to feel better.
