I used to love Neighbours but a year or so ago it has got really tacky. I can't stand it now! I think it started when Paul Robinson came back, but I was annoyed when they split Karl and Susan up and got rid of Joe Scully.

Sorry, I mean "Neighbours", not "the Neighbours!"

I went on holiday in March and didn't see it for about a month and thank God, i was cured of my addiction! Ha ha! Mum watches it religiously though. I am worried I'll get sucked back in if I'm not careful!

I wouldn't say got rubbish, but its got worse. Though I believe its now reached a point that its so rubbish can almost make good comedy.

What would the street do if Karl suddenly left? He's the resident doctor, brain surgeon, councilor, cancer treatment specialist, guitar player, the list is almost endless. And Paul Robinson back? Genius. What now he's missing a leg and flip-flopping between nice guy and seedy manipulator. Joe Scully gone? No great loss. Toady? Where does he get his money from? Ive never seen him take on a paying client as a lawyer.

Rubbish, but great fun.

Yea i kind of agree. I wish Joe Scully was still in the show (but his contract ran out). I still think Susan and Karl will get it on and as for Paul. He's not in the picture credits i dont think so maybe he'll be killed off and then the show will get back to normal.

I lost interest in Neighbours during the early 90's I am amazed it is still going and not a scratch on what it really used to be. It is the same as Home and Away, had some good stories and characters but now it is something shoved off peak time.

I totally agree. I gave up on Neighbours about 9 Years ago, that's when It got boring and stupid to me. My boyfriends Dad watches it religiously and It was on one night I was there and Oh My God in 9 Years It hasn't Changed, theres even the same Characters. How old is Toadie now!!! Ha Ha

I'v watched it since the 80's, with the days of Des and Daphne. I do still watch it now. I enjoy it whilst eating my tea. I think it is quite funny at the moment, I like the fact that Paul's evil and the hints of homosexuality between Harold and Lou. I'll never stop watching Neighbours. Am definatly an addict!!

Christmas television is continually garbage except for the severe exception. The manufacturers seem to imagine that anybody needs to reveal screen tacky action pictures or customary variety shows. there have been one or 2 interesting documentaries and the Royal corporation Christmas Lectures are continually very reliable IMO. One good yet demanding movie, The Magdelene Sisters.

I used to watch it when I was little, when Kylie and Jason were in it! Stopped watching it probably about 8-9 years ago. Sometimes I catch it if I'm in and I have to turn it. the storylines are terrible and the acting leaves a lot to be desired too.

I'm going out on a limb and guessing you are British. I was in London in 1998 with my wife and daughter. The hotel room only had one bed, so I asked for a cot for my 22 year old daughter-they gave me a crib! We speak the same language, but sometimes we don't.
