For some reason, the thought of evolution and God conflict to some people, but in reality, there is nothing mutually exlusive about either.

Because the theory has holes. You mentioned that cars evolved. Cars are machines that were made by intelligent humans. But the human body is even more complex that, so possibly it was by a more intelligent being. Also, a virus is still a virus after it evolved, not a whole other species. Miro-evolution is evident, but no matter how you breed a dog or mutate a virus, a dog is a dog and a virus is a virus. I am just as skeptical of God as I am of evolution, But, fact is, both theories can't be proved, but both have evidence. Evolution is blindly accepted as fact because it is the only alternative to being responsable to anyone but ourselves. Keep an open mind. Evolution is just one theory. We also thought the earth was flat at one point. You may say that "evolution is science and everything else is just nonsense" but there is scientific evidence to support alternitive views as well. Do some research.

The fundies fear evolution because it removes Man from his special, privileged place in the Universe. The Bible posits that Man was made in the very image of god; His special creation, at the center of all things. Early maps of the cosmos placed the earth at the center of the Universe. From a philosophical and (most importantly) emotional point of view, that feels pretty good. We're #1! Science has slowly pushed that religious view out of the physical world until it today exists mostly in the metaphysical. For some, the idea that we were created by god in his image is the last vestige of the old specialness, and they are loathe to abandon it. We *can't* just be another species of animal life on this planet! That doesn't feel good. That doesn't feel special. The anti-evolution debate exists mostly in the U.S. and other places where ignorance of science is high. Frankly, I don't think most people give it much thought or really care much about the question; theyre basically a herd of cattle, content with what's in front of them.
...but that's a discussion for another day...;-)

Well, I´m from germany and we haven´t these problems here, but we look over to you and shake our heads.
Religion and of course creationist is for some people so elemantary, that the are afraid about the thinking, that they are only the product of biological rules.
They need more, because they are not strong out of herselfs? You see what I mean?
And cause, while they are weak, they need something they can believe, similar to the belivieng to Flying Sauccerians.

i'm uncertain what you recommend by employing those antagonistic to evolution being fearful. i've got on no account seen or heard something interior the controversy that denotes any form of worry. the problem on the two aspects of the evolution difficulty is the human tendency to vilify or demean warring parties particularly than work together in smart debate. alongside those lines I easily have witnessed the two aspects motel to slander and short imprecise comments. If somebody is look after in any perception(scientific or religious) they might desire to be waiting to look after that view somewhat and state all information particularly than consistently concerning massive bodies of unnamed information.

people are afraid of change. They have grown up hearing from their parents about god and all his powers never once think both could be possible. After a while this becomes fazct for them and they believe all else is wrong.

Evolution means change. Change is always unpredictable. It could go either way (beneficial or destructive). This is one reason why people are afraid of change or evolution.

I think its a function of ego
people want to think they are better than other animals, special
its why they create God in their image also (even though they claim its the other way around!)

Life goes on whether you believe in
Creation, or Evolution, or neither.
I believe in the Bible but I do not
criticize anyone if their beliefs differ
from mine.

because people are blinded by their religion and they think that they are a superior species so they don't want to belive that we evolved from same common ancestor as monkeys
