I as well agree that she looked very skinny in the movie, and when they said that she was "fat", I didn't get it until, now. In New York - scratch that - in the fashion business, if you are not a size 0-4, you are fat, fat, FAT! You have to eat no carbs, practically nothing all day. They made a point here in the movie, because this is the way it is in life. This is what starts eating disorders, Andy wasn't fat, she just wasn't as thin as the other skinny girls. You have to be bone skinny for these jobs, it's the way it is.
Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, although the united states is an average of 61% overweight, Hollywood and the fashion world are out of touch with what is actually attractive. Unless you are a hanger (size 0) you're not thin. This is a bad example to put forth to the young. She did look fine. Several industries just haven't caught up to the fact that size 12 and up is the norm, not size "nothing".

To show just how ridiculious the fashion industry is. I really loved the movie, and thought that Anne Hathaway did a great job. I though she looked amazing, too.

They are comparing her to models who have a size 0 frame. She looked fabulous I thought. It's also just a movie...

I think she looked great in the movie. Some people are just so judgemental. They don't have anything better to do with their time. Its sad really.

I think that was the whole point. They're all image conscious, so the picked on the "fat" girl, even though she was far from it.
