I want to create a blog but want to make my own site not one like blogger.com etc. Is there any time of way i can get a free type of blog service to add to my site i have already created?

Yes, there are lots of them. You could try Wordpress (wordpress.org), or Textpattern (textpattern.com) These both require your website to have PHP and MySQL capabilities. Pretty much all of these blog programs are based on PHP and MySQL, so if your webhost doesn't support these, then you might need to find another webhost.
