Is Mcafee better at finding adware files. It claims to find 13 adware files on my computer. However 4 other anti-spyware programs I tried found nothing. Mcafee claims the spyware is in my System Volume Information but I can't seem to access that file.

yea, mcafee is one of the best security software out there, and if that's your case, maybe you'll have to manually delete the virus from that folder, just make sure you make a backup of everything before you do it... so if you want to manually delete it, this is what you're gonna do:

1.Click Start, and then click My Computer.
2.On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
3.On the View tab, click Show hidden files and folders.
4.Clear the Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) check box. Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the change.
5.Clear the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) check box.
6.Click OK.
7.Right-click the System Volume Information folder in the root folder, and then click Properties.
8.Click the Security tab.
9.Click Add, and then type the name of the user to whom you want to give access to the folder. Typically, this is the account with which you are logged on. Click OK, and then click OK again.
10.Double-click the System Volume Information folder in the root folder to open it.

it's not that complicated when you just follow these instructions and if you still cant access the file, you might want to check this out: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309531

first of i should point out something Anti-virus programs don't look for adware, or spyware. that's the job of another kind of program, called anti-spyware.

Now a lot of the bigger names in Anti-virus makers are also making anti-spyware programs as well. Some give you their anti-spyware with their antivirus. while others do not. It’s possible that the version of MacAfee your using came with booth of those programs. While the others you got where simply anti-virus and not also anti-spyware.

It is best to run more then 1 spyware program because they will find things that others wont.

look, i've tried mcafee , and it's not the best antivirus software, get kaspersky, it's better, also get spyware doctor, and you should update them regularly

I don't think it's better. I have McAffee myself and it's terrible. The only thing its useful for is a firewall and worm killer. It isn't making them up, trust me. Maybe you misinterpreted a message it gave you? Try Ad-Aware if you don't already have it.
