I learned how to spell, read, apply appropriate punctuation, and use proper sentence construction from my elementary school teachers:
1st Grade - Ms. Gray
2nd Grade - Mrs. Maloney
3rd Grade - Mrs. Harris
4th Grade - Mrs. Crossman
5th Grade - Mr. Clapp
6th Grade - Mrs. McDaniel
Thank you, teachers!!! I wish you could have been blessed enough to have even one of these teachers in your school.
One valuable lesson I gained from living in an abusive, alcoholic home---was how NOT to make the same mistakes my parents made. I studied, worked all through high school, saved money for college, etc. I now have 2 degrees, have had a wonderful life with 2 biological children, approximately 27 foster children, and I have five grandchildren.
God puts us through whatever we must endure as children so we can make the choice and decisions necessary to be responsible, honorable, and loving adults.
Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ.

I am 30 years old and dreaded turning 30, because I felt like I didn't accomplish much in life. I was feeling sorry for myself and was depressed, then I took a look at my life and compared it to others and realized that sucess is not defined by wealth but by overcoming obstacles. So at the age of 30, I decided to go back to school to further my education and make something out of my life and appreciate the things I have and look toward the future. Everyone makes mistakes, learn from your mistake and don't focus on the past. Life is what you make it. Create your own destiny, daily.

1. That no one has power over you that you don't let them have. 2. If you lay down boundaries, and people cross them, there must be consequences and harsh ones, or they will cross them again. The nicest people have hurt me this way.
3. It's not what happens to you, it's how you let it affect you. You can find a valuable lesson in almost any circumstance.
4. Don't be afraid to love. If you don't lay your heart out there, even though it might get broken, then you will never find love.

I've learned that it's best to live life on my own terms and in my own way, never intentionally hurting anyone else; and to be quick to apologize and compliment, but slow to criticize.
