about actually being gay, coming out etc...it's actually kind of pathetic...and then there are the religious ones...these people who believe the bible are probably the same ones who believe the politicians.

When people have only one book, that happens to be a five thousand year old storybook, and obviously no life experience to go by, I can understand their ignorance. Being ignorant is something we're all born with, while being stupid is something one must work at. With all the information available on the human condition via Books, Magazines, TV, Radio etc even a Bible Thumping Fanatic should understand that there are things we are born to. Do these people assume it's a choice to be born missing a limb.

I am not gay but I am transgendered. I am also a Christian, but believe me, I know that this is no choice we make, but I think it makes us stronger, because of all the hardships of coming out and the fear of scorn. If there was some treatment to make me not transgendered and I think that many gays feel the same way, we would not take it, I for one am completly happy and unashamed of being tg. I also know many lesbians and gays that feel the same way. As for the bible, I believe that God made us special because he knew that we could handle the challenges that comes with being gay and or transgendered.

I'm not gay but I really support the right to be. It makes me sick to my stomach when people say that it's a choice. No, it's not. You can not help who you love, or you're *type*. It just comes to you naturally. If a man likes another man, I say, Go for it! NOTHING wrong with it. Tell those people who say it's a choice, "Well, is it a choice for you to be straight OR can you have a relationship with the same sex and feel completely comfortable & happy with it? Tool."

Well, since I never made a choice to be straight and to be attracted to men, I really doubt if you made a choice to be gay. I think being gay or straight is just a fact of birth.

I hate when people say that gay people have a choice when it comes to being attracted to the same sex. Do they know that we have no choice as being who we are. Can they help if they were born black or white, male or female, American or Mexican, no, so I wish they would leave us alone and mind their own business.

i'm so tired of hearing it, i'm not even going to respond to them anymore. what does it matter if it's choice or genetic? even if it was discovered tomorrow that it was genetic by all the top scientists in the world, nothing would change. it would just mean that now the religious and political groups would have to find new ways of attacking us. and it wouldn't be long before they did. there would still be people on this website spouting that gays are wrong, there would still be legislation against us, their would still be groups like the westboro baptist church of topeka, kansas spouting how we are sinners and are going to hell across the street from our gay pride celebrations. and there would still be people who would use our sexual orientation as a reason to commit acts of violence against us. so what does it matter? nothing would change either way.

It is a choice. You made your choice as to what to believe, and the christians have made a choice to believe Jesus Christ, and what the bible teaches. So why complain about someone else's choice when you made one too.

By the way, most liberal politicians are corrupt and godless. Only a fool would believe them.

I believe there are real gay people (genetic flaws) but it seems that it's the cool thing to be (or do) these days, which gives GAYS a bad name. P.S. So why don't U real gays relax and just enjoy being.

Sarcasm is a beautiful mechanism to use to highlight ignorance, but educating them and helping them to be more emphatic is probably more effective than humiliating them for something they probably picked up from someone else that was far less educated.
