Yes, its very boring. I have tried to watch it objectively and it just does not hold my interest. However, I've given it some thought and I've noticed a few fundamental flaws with the game:
1) The field is too big. Too much time is wasted running around pointlessly. This makes it as boring as watching a marathon. If the field was 15%-20% smaller, the game would move much faster and be more entertaining and engaging.
2) Too much theatrics. In hockey, we have similar competition between several players over possession of the puck. There are no "fouls" when players try to gain control of the puck. In soccer, the smallest pushing or holding results in a yellow card and theatrics and people rolling around on the soccer pitch in "pain". Boring!
With some small modifications, I think the game would be much more entertaining. Perhaps we should tailor the rules in the US to create a more exciting game.

yes everything is more boring than watching soccer! soccer is the best sport to watch by far.

I dont understand why you people think this sport is boring. Soccer takes so much talent and ability. The ones that can't play it are the ones that dont like it.

Most Americans hate it since there is not much points or scoring but Americans like baseball and football because there is alot of that but me personally LOVE soccer!

Yes- watching American Football- stop, huddle, ad break, stop, etc- at least REAL football isn't stopping every five minutes and the FOOT actually has something to do with the BALL!

when you have played it as long as I have..there is NOTHING a boring about it...think about it..it is because there aren't 40 points per game..if NFL football WERE TO BE SCORED POINT BY POINT AND EVERYTHING WAS WORTH JUST A POINT..THEN FOOTBALL WOULD EQUALLY STINK AND HAVE LOW SCORING GAMES..
bowling, poker, dominoes, miniature golf and cheerleading are the things that ESPN MUST TOSS off the TV...
