i wear because i wear coloured ones to match an outfit
i also wear them to keep warm
plus they cover you a bit if your skirt blows up
and all in all they make your legs look smoother and more shapely.

Because they look great and more sophisticated and elegant than bare legs in ALL situations! "Graduated compression tights/pantyhose" prevent leg fatigue, formation of varicose veins, and they will help regulate body temperature at a comfortable level. (Higher temp when under pants and with shorts or mini there is evaportaive cooling due to the wicking of moisture from the skin). Prevents tick and bug bites. They are really high tech clothing most women have never taken the trouble to find the right size, cut, and materials of construction (high Lycra content) to be comfortable. The smart ones have figured this out and now men are discovering this and using them in everything from sports to everyday wear.

I believe long skirts are excellent, you're protected up minus the restrictions of pants.

because i think its to do with giving their legs a sheen, i dont believe its to keep them warm unless theyre really thick ones.
