Check craigslist.org for opportunities. Join writer's market so you can get the contacts to submit to various publications. (better idea..go buy their book, then you get the book AND a year subscription to the site).

This site has a newsletter I used to subscribe to (actuallly I'm going to sign up again) that is worth the $30 a year. It pulls ads from all over the US from all sorts of places. I have had some success with it.

You can also look at sites you could write for and write to their publisher/editor. Many keep a pool of freelance writers and you might get lucky. Submit a pitch when you contact them; it may get their interest.

Make sure you have your own website with an online portfolio. EVERYONE wants to see what you've done and this makes it easy to show them.

Good luck.

Start a web-blog and sell advertising. You'll get to practise your writing skills and you'll make a little cash on the side. You can also sell articles to certain online magazines. Start an online novel and sell each chapter for a few dollars (but you have to have faith that the story will sell).

Good luck!

Hi, stewcat 123, my name is Hank. Yahoo has connections to publishers on their site about making money from your blog. I'm kind of computer dumb, and I couldn't get it to work for me.

But, if you are a little computer savvy, you should be able to get the links required to begin making money.

I was checking out Yahoo's Answers home page and that's where I found the information to set it up. Good luck. Hank Feral
