Has anyone seen the movie called Grizzly Man, and if so what did you think? I watched it last night and had alot of mixed emotions as to why he lived that life. I heard and understood that he was passionate for animals especially bears but most of the time that I was watching the movie I questioned his mental capabilities. I think he was seriously screwed up in the head, sick of life and society and used the bears and Alaska to escape reality. The movie effected me that is for sure and made me think deeply about different types of mental disorders.

I thought it was an interesting movie. I felt sorry for the guy. He kept isolating himself more and more from humanity. He did come off as having some sort of mental disorder, that was only made worse by being more or less alone in the wilderness. He lost touch between the difference in animals being uncontaminated by the hand of man, and therefore harmless, and being in large kind of petting zoo. Any contact with a wild animal is potentially dangerous. The bigger the animal, the bigger the danger.

I've seen the movie and I definitely have to agree with you. He had mental problems of some kind. It's one thing to go a bit extreme to protect/advocate issues that are close to you, but he was seriously on the bad end of extreme, with some intense paranoia involved. It was honestly sad and a bit disturbing to watch.

I have to agree that Timothy had, at least, a few serious head issues. How sad he did not easily live amongst people, but found it easy to, literally, put his head into the bears mouth.

Many people have mental disorders, but not too many manifest themselves into making documentaries about their theories.
You should read the book as it sheds a much more reveling light onto his past and deeper emotions.

I have seen this movie and it is all that you said. He was a strange fellow. there is no doubt in my mind that he suffered from some sort of mental disorder.

He had is heart in the right place but his mind was kinda off track. Just strolling along out there with the bears. He could of helped them without needlessly risking his life.
