Good question. There are several things that have mystified me about the NFL.
1. Why would teams like Minnesota and Indianapolis play in a dome and take away the cold weather advantage they could have, or in Minnesota's case used to have?
2. Why did the Miami Dolphins never get Dan Marino a running game? He would have won several Superbowls.
3. Weird running backs like Barry Sanders and Ricky Williams.
4. Why did the Texans pass on Reggie Bush???
Good question.

The thing that mystfies me is how the NFL cannot seem to hire FULL TIME referees to work, at least, their most important games (playoffs and the Super Bowl). I'm a Steelers fan, and while we did benefit from the Super Bowl calls (most certainly the call when Rothlisberger was ruled in for a TD and he wasn't), we almost didn't get there from the blown call on Polamalu's INT that was overturned in the IND game.
The fact of the matter is this...there are billions of dollars spent in the NFL, yet they go the cheap route with their officiating. Hire full time refs, that is then their only job, you will get way more consistant officiating and eliminate most of the absolute boneheaded calls you see all year.

why most team ownership continues to pamper
some of the criminal types they have on the payroll
I think it shows a total disregard for the buying public
This year in particular a few of the college draftee's have
gone from draft day to lock up in a matter or weeks
I thought the NFL was concerned with being a good roll model for kids.
Instead they reward these thugs with huge pay checks and
New York City Attorneys.

Why does the NFL continue to give 6'5" receivers a rules advantage over 5'11" cornerbacks? Get rid of the 5-yard bump rule.

Why don't fans rebel against the silly rules that prevent cornerbacks from breathing on a wide receiver. They can't even tap the guy's shoulder before he gets the ball. I HATE that rule!

Why did they curtail endzone celebrations?
To Joerevs: i've watched refs call penalties against the Eagles on number 81, offense, long after T.O. got kicked out.
