It was a cold wet winter evening. You went into the towns best known restaurant of quality and had an array of delicious starters then dined on an expensive exquisite meal that had all the trimmings then a delicious dessert and all washed it down with a couple of bottles of the finest recommended wine. Finally when you could hardly bite into another crumb, the bill was offered, you were forced to admitted to having no money to pay.
What would you expect?

Maybe a comfy warm dry cell and 3 square meals is not such a bad punishment??

Harsh words and possible police intervention as it is technically stealling.

It's called the doctrine of Choice and Consequence. You made a choice, and now it's consequence time. What you have done is called fraud. Hopefully you could work out something with the establishment, but that's unlikely. Chances are you would find yourself being given a place to sleep and 3 meals a day in the local gray bar hotel, followed by a trip to see a judge and a large fine plus being ordered to pay the full bill.

Why I would go to any business .explain my dilemma and they would give me a job. I would then work hard and have a car, home, tv, and everything else in no time because I am a smart hard worker., whats terrible is people actually think like this. Which of course would never work. If people know you are homeless or even poor they will take advantage of you or snob you because you obviously deserve to be in such a condition according to their twisted little fairytale mind. When I see people like this I try to do what I can or If i cant do anything at the time I at least pray for them.

I'd be washing dishes for the next two years.
Then they would see my talent for washing dishes and make me their head dishwasher...
... and they all lived happily ever after... the end ;)
I love a happy ending.
Seriously though, when I was homeless, penniless and hungry even the local cafe wouldn't let me in unless I showed them the money. Staff at a ritzy eatery would be able to spot a homeless person from a hundred yards.

WELL THE OWNER OF THE RESTAURANT WOULD BE ON THE PHONE , TO THE POLICE RIGHT AWAY

EVEN IF YOU PROMISED, TO NIP AROUND TO THE BANK AND PAY THEM IN THE MORNING .
..
YOU WOULD STILL BE APPREHENDED FOR THEFT OF THE MEAL AND YOU WOULD BE ARRESTED AND CHARGED.

UNLESS, YOU COULD BY SOME MEANS, GET SOMEONE TO RUN AROUND ,WITH SOME CASH TO PAY THE BILL,
THERE AND THEN BEFORE THE POLICE ARRIVED..

IT IS UNFORTUNATE, THAT YOU DID NOT CHECK YOU HAD MONEY FOR THE MEAL , BEFORE YOU ATE IT .

IF YOU knew YOU HAD NO MONEY, AND WENT AHEAD THAT IS BLATANT THEFT

.( YOU WILL BE "INSIDE " BEFORE YOUR FEET TOUCH THE GROUND .)

if YOU ARE HOMELESS AND PENNILESS AND HUNGRY
GO TO A CHARITY / CHURCH/ ORGANISATION WERE YOU WILL BE GIVEN A MEAL ..

. THEN GO SEEK WORK AND EARN, YOUR OWN WAY OUT OF DESTITUTION.

At most establishments your server will be held accountable to cover the meal you have stolen. You are directly taking money out of anothers pocket. It is despicable really. If you are hungry there are plenty of out reach programs that will feed you without you resorting to theft.

I would hope that charges would be laid.

Ignoring your story, and answeing the original question, I would 'do' what I did the last time I found myself homeless, penniless and hungry - do something about it.

um, I'd expect to have to RUN and keep running until I was far away and then maybe think about eating at a soup kitchen next time instead.

jail time. No one goes into a restaurant and doesn't know they can't pay. It's stealing.
