Some voted for Bush because he was perceived as the lesser of two evils.
I voted for him because I believe in him and what he's doing. He has my full support, in most all facets of his presidency.
But every president has, whether I voted for him or not. I wouldn't have that job for all the money in the world, and I believe that he needs our support and trust.
It might be simple to think you could do as good a job, or better, or that you could just go in there and make decisions and have things go the way you want. This is not the case - our founding fathers created a government that will not allow anyone that sort of power. He has to weigh his decisions against factors that we will never fully know or understand - things come at him from all directions. No, I wouldn't have his job for all the money in the world.

Just as the first time he was elected, The deciding vote went to Florida. The state that is governed by his brother Jeb. The first time was a real mess. The people that headed up the election sites were throwing out ballots. The ballots were a punch card that fit over a form with hols punched in it. The ballots were printed in such a way that the hols did not line up properly. Black voters were being turned back in Northern Florida by gunpoint. The commissioner of elections was a woman that was friends with Jeb. The second time he ran, the votes were still a problem because all the polling places were not up;dated as yet. The second time, the government chose him.

Because the Republican Party are excellent strategists and campaigners.
They fired up the evangelical base with gay marriage and scared the rest of them by constantly using 9/11 as a marketing tool.
They fired up the emotions of many Vietnam vets by misrepresenting John Kerry, and his attempts to bring his comrades home after Vietnam. They did the same thing to Kerry that they did to John McCain in the 2000 primary. Quite frankly, it sickens me that anyone would give them any respect after those immoral and cruel tactics. There is a special place in hell for Karl Rove.
The good news is that the better man is finally fighting back. Too bad he didn't do this DURING the campaign.
I bet my last dollar the Swift Boat liars are going to get skunked.

The alternative vote for kerry would had sensitively be the same..amercian are voting in an obligarchy system, the main ideology is corporate fascism to benefit a few..
Hitler is dead, unfortunately it does not mean that fascist and supremacist ideologies are dead..
Each vote for Bush or Kerry was a fall toward fascism, American pseudo-patriotism is nothing more tha a Heil to their TVs..

Because of his witty sense of humor, great public speaking abilities, especially his perfect pronounciation of "nuclear". And also because he had a healthy, perfect human model for a running mate.
God help us all if the vote counters (not the voters themselves) put another Bush in office.
Just look at Frank Caliendo's impression of GW, you'll see what everyone else outside the US sees.

The irony of your question is that not one of the Republican applicants working for the Presidency evoke his call at their campaigns, nor do they associate themselves along with his rules or plans. Judging by employing the final couple of Caucuses and Primaries; many Republicans are balloting Democratically alongside with the Independents. No way might I vote for Bush Jr., understanding what i know now!

it was difficult to understand what John Kerry was going to do if he won the presidency. He seemed to fear making difinitive statements and used an attack Bush strategy instead.
I think faced with Bush who was clear on what he would do and Kerry who was less clear, three million more people voted for Bush than for Kerry.

Good question.
How sad is it that the democratic party couldn't put up a better candidate in 2000 or 2004?
Can we say Jeb Bush in 2008? God help us all.
