Check out Merchant Ivory Productions: they made some wonderful Victorian period films. I suggest: A Room with A View, Howard's End, and The Remains of the Day.

This movie is set back in 1870 and it is my all time favorite movie i cry everytime i watch it "The Phantom of the Opera" There are many different versions the one that i like the best is the 2004 version with Gerard Butler and emmy rossum!
